Madigan, Michael - Age 33 - Patrolman - 14 Dist. - Fatally shot 5:10 PM, 6/5/26, in a saloon at 2724 Union Ave., by the proprietor, James Beninato, when he was about to search a cupboard back of the bar with a view to uncovering illicit liquor. Beninato was thereupon wounded by Patlm. Connaughton and placed under arrest. On 6/18/26 he was held by the Coroner. 14 Dist. 5/26/27 - Beninato acquitted - J. Sullivan.
